BCS Breaks Ground at Army Corps of Engineers Project in San Antonio

After months of preparation for an Army Corps project, the team of Joseph Sanderson Project Manager, Miguel Castro, General Superintendent, Jose Diaz, Superintendent and Leopoldo Grimaldo, Site Safety Manager started the Military Working Dog Kennel Project this week at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.

“The Army Corps of Engineers is known for being extremely demanding when it comes to safety requirements, equipment and materials specifications and contractor vetting.  Multiple revisions are completed on all training documentation, many questions are asked and answered and we are confident that we have the right team in place for this project, ” Sanderson said.

“This is the first time we have worked with the Army Corps and their general contractors, and we are excited to make this a good experience for everyone.  BCS is pursuing multiple projects in the San Antonio market and current we are involved with four other projects with several others possible in the near future.

The project consists of 35 piers, grade beams on void forms, a 6,000 square foot slab and site work around the building.  The project may be small regarding scope of work but is a difficult job that BCS Concrete Structures is looking forward to tackling the challenge.

Military Working Dogs are highly specialized team members who supplement and enhance the capabilities of Security Forces personnel.  The new facility will provide the dogs with a more stable environment and will enhance security on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston as well.
