BCS Prepares for 4th Annual Safety Rodeo

On December 13, BCS will dedicate the day to training on many core safety challenges that we have recognized throughout the year. Preventing injury accidents is critical to BCS’ success and maintaining its status as Best in Class in commercial concrete in Central Texas. The Safety Rodeo consists of a cycle of seven Simultaneous Training Events lasting about 30 minutes each.  Trainers include vendors, partners and factory representatives. Here are the events schedule for this year, their sponsor and primary trainer/s:

#1 Ladder Safety-Werner Ladders. Jack Westbrook, Pat Walsh, Walsh Safety Consulting

#2 Hand Protection-Ironwear, Trainer Jeffrey Hayden

#3 Silica Control Tools-Bosch, Trainer, Luis Naranjo

#4 Material Handling-White Construction, Trainer-Mark Alvarez

#5 Fall Protection-Falltech, Trainers, Frank Carbajal and Eduardo Cortez

#6 Concrete Safety-Texas Materials, Trainer-Chris Keathley

#7 Ergonomics for Concrete Workers, Marsh McClennan, Mark Gaskamp

Trainers met in early November to discuss the training objectives for training station and shared ideas on how they could improve their station as well as the entire rodeo.  OSHA Area Director, Monica Camacho will provide the welcome and introductory comments for the event.  The Rodeo starts at 6 a.m. and ends around 12 p.m. followed by the BCS Holiday Party.
