BCS Fall Stand Down Features Training From OSHA Area Director and Falltech

On May 10, BCS hosted a Fall Stand Down event with 20 of its’ field leaders and 10 of its subcontractors and GC partners in attendance.  The event was sponsored by Colony Hardware and Falltech. Participating companies included Hill & Wilkinson, White Construction, Fabco, R&M Rebar and Central Texas Rebar.  The event began with OSHA Austin Area Director reviewing the 2023 and year to date 2024 safety violations and fatalities and included OSHA emphasis programs for this summer.

Master Trainer Frank Carbajal, Falltech, then presented for 90 minutes on the topic of Advanced Fall Protection issues and concluded with a hands-on demonstration showing participants how to use trauma straps after a fall and how to develop a fall rescue plan.  Participants received training cards and certificates, event shirts and Falltech raffled off two pairs of tickets to the Mexico vs Brazil soccer game in College Station on June 8.
