FallTech Provides Training for New San Antonio Workers

Falltech’s Eduardo Cortes and new BCS employees in San Antonio came together on a recent July morning for fall protection training.  In fact, this was the first fall protection training Cortes has ever done for BCS at our recently opened San Antonio office, (922 Issom Rd).  Workers have already had the opportunity to learn about fall protection basics as part of their OSHA 10 training provided to all new employees of BCS. But this training in San Antonio combined both a basic review of the OSHA standard, a hands-on inspection of and wearing a harness and a visual demonstration outside of falls.

After time in the classroom, BCS workers watch simulated falls from FallTech’s drop truck in the office parking lot.  Workers were able to see the effects of falls based on various types of equipment and what can happen when the wrong equipment is used.

Cortes’ training style encourages workers to ask questions and participate and he also makes it personal.  According to BCS Vice President, Todd Smith, “there are many people who conduct training but are unable to engage workers.  Cortes is a subject matter expert as well as a gifted trainer. Smith said.  He gives our workers the confidence and knowledge to work safely at heights and wear their fall protection PPE correctly.”

FallTech’s partnership with BCS has been ongoing for several years. In addition to introductory training and Competent Person training in Fall Protection, FallTech trainers are involved in the annual BCS Fall Stand Down in May as well as the BCS Safety Rodeo, this year’s 5th annual event is scheduled for December 12, 2025.
