Empowering Our Team with Fall Protection Training

At BCS Concrete Structures, our dedication to safety is at the core of everything we do. On June 30th, we proudly conducted training in Fall Protection, with 28 of our select employees participating. This training is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe working environment and meeting the pre-qualification requirements for upcoming projects.

As defined by OSHA’s CFR 1926.32 (f), a Competent Person is someone who can identify potential hazards in their surroundings and take prompt corrective actions to eliminate risks that may be hazardous or dangerous to employees. By empowering our team with this knowledge, we reinforce our steadfast commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.

To deliver the highest quality training, we partnered with Falltech, our primary fall protection vendor. We welcomed expert trainer Mike Tavis from Phoenix, who skillfully led the program. Throughout the training, our employees learned their key responsibilities as Fall Protection Competent Persons, ensuring compliance with OSHA’s CFR 1926, Subpart M. Topics covered included Fall Protection Systems, Harnesses, and Self-Retracting Lifelines (SRLs), also known as Yo-Yos, along with essential Training Requirements. Additionally, they were trained in how to conduct a successful worker rescue after a fall event.

The knowledge and expertise gained from the training enable our employees to assist their colleagues in using fall protection equipment safely and effectively, fostering a culture of vigilance and responsibility towards workplace safety.

The Austin-based commercial concrete contractor takes immense pride in upholding the highest safety standards across all our projects. Investing in comprehensive training programs like the Competent Person training in Fall Protection reaffirms our unwavering commitment to the well-being and security of our workforce.

As we continue to prioritize safety, our employees are better prepared to proactively mitigate potential fall hazards, making us even stronger as a team dedicated to safety and excellence.
