New Falltech Trainer Engages New BCS Workers with Fall Protection Training

Eduardo Cortes is new with Falltech and new to BCS employees.  In fact, this was the first training he has ever done for BCS and the results were remarkable.  Workers had the opportunity to learn about fall protection as part of their OSHA 10 training provided to all new employees of BCS.  While many of the workers have had learned the basics of fall protection before, this training combined both a basic review of the OSHA standard, a hands-on inspection of a harness and how to don it correctly as well as an open Q&A so that workers could understand what the rules say, but how they are protected from falls. Cortes’ training style encouraged workers to ask questions and participate as opposed to just sit and watch a Power Point presentation as many other trainers do.

Falltech’s partnership with BCS has been ongoing for several years. In addition to introductory training and Competent Person trainings in Fall Protection, Falltech trainers are involved in the annual BCS Fall Stand Down in May as well as the BCS Safety Rodeo, this year scheduled for December 13.
