HOUSTON, Texas (September 23, 2026) —The 2026 Texas Nuclear Summit, hosted by the Texas Nuclear Alliance (TNA), concluded Wednesday after three days of convening industry, government, academia, and regulators focused on Texas’s nuclear future, from deploying nuclear at scale and meeting growing power demand to building the industrial base, attracting investment, and advancing policy and regulation.

Ben Horton was invited to attend as a panelist because Oklo’s Groves Isotope Test Reactor in Caldwell County is the world’s fastest-built privately funded reactor of its kind. The panel on which he participated, highlighted the Texas suppliers and workforce — many from outside the traditional nuclear supply chain — who helped bring Groves from concept to construction. The conversation explored how local manufacturers, skilled workers, and nontraditional partners made the project possible, and what it means for Texas as a growing hub for advanced nuclear deployment.
