Safety Rodeo

More than 100 BCS Employees received training in Scissor Lifts, Ladders, Scaffolds, Fall Protection, and Basic Carpentry at the 1st Annual BCS Safety Rodeo which took place at the new office at Mustang Ridge (coming soon).  Blas Hernandez reacts to being lifted by a forklift during Fall Protection Training. Christmas Party

BCS has been fortunate this year and we thanked our workers and celebrated our success at our Christmas Party after the Safety Rodeo. BCS Employees Julia Prendiz, Vanessa Kaskie, and Yamile Smith decorated the new shop while Larry Thomas organized the meal for the party.

Emerging Leaders Program

BCS has started its first Emerging Leaders Program. At left, Jesse Aguilar and Javier Grimaldo are studying OSHA Safety Regulations in an OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Course.  Eight Students Graduated on December 10.  Along with Javier and Jesse, Brandon Garcia, Samuel Arredondo, Luis Ramirez, Armando Reyna Caleb Linton and Project Manager Israel Galvan also attended.

Nail Driving Competition

General Superintendent Rafael Lopez and Project Manager Reed Boyd explain the rules for the Nail Driving Competition which followed the BCS Safety Rodeo on December 17.  Each worker had to drive 15 nails, five each of three different kinds of nails and the person with the best time won.  Deductions of 1 second were assessed if the nail was not completely flat or if the hammer damaged the wood around the nail.  Owner Sonny Horton, a 3rd Generation Union Carpenter judged each contestant’s performance
